On 20th of December 2021 the Scientific Council of Faculty for Engineering and Chemical Technology at Cracow University of Technology granted the post-doctoral degree to our employee - dr Lech Iwański. The contribution to the habilitation was an original technological achievement, being a series of technological solutions implemented in the industry entitled: “Epoxy compounds production technologies, with particular emphasis on epoxy resins”.
Congratulations!
The 2nd TECHCO Forum, organized by the Polish Chamber of Chemical Industry (PIPC), was held on 23-24 November 2021 in a stationary form. The event combined three key PIPC events in three thematic blocks: Safe Chemistry Program, Chemical Industry Ecological Forum and Chemistry 4.0 Project. One of the speakers was an employee of Łukasiewicz - ICSO "Blachownia", Dr. Andrzej Krueger.
The campaign for the recognition of the Łukasiewicz brand is launched today under this slogan. We invite you to follow new information about it on our website, social media, but also in search engines, shopping platforms, popular blogs and internet portals. Tomasz Rożek, the creator of the channel and website “Nauka. To lubię" will also take part in it.
The Board of the Opolskie Voivodeship adopted the Regional Innovation Strategy of the Opolskie Voivodeship until 2030. We are proud to announce that a significant contribution to its development was made by our employee and participant of the Team of Experts, Dr. Andrzej Krueger.
We are happy to announce that at the International Exhibition of Innovation and Technology INNO-WINGS in Lublin we received:

On September 15, scientists from our institute took part in the "Little Town" project, simulating "adult" life in the city, organized for children aged 8-12 at the "Twierdza" Cultural Center in Koźle. Workshops on the preparation of creams, hydrophobic packaging and the separation of substances using thin-layer chromatography aroused great interest!
Łukasiewicz - ICSO "Blachownia" received the certificate number 11/2020/DPL in the fields of:
- physical-chemical testing,
- studies on behaviour in water, soil and air; bioaccumulation,
- residue studies (analytical phase),
- other studies: chemical analysis.
Due to the Act of February 21st, 2019, on the Łukasiewicz Research Network, which entered into force on April 1st, 2019, Institute of Heavy Organic Synthesis "Blachownia" has been transformed into the institute of Łukasiewicz Research Network.
The Łukasiewicz Research Network - Institute of Heavy Organic Synthesis "Blachownia” assumes all the rights and obligations the entity had before the transformation (Art.101 par.1 of the Act of February 21st, 2019 on the Łukasiewicz Research Network).
In the comparison, prepared by Republic of Poland Patent Office (including: chemical engineering, environmental protection technologies, high-quality compounds chemistry), ICSO “Blachownia” placed six (with application number amounting 103) among the most active subjects applying for patents for inventions and utility models in years 2012-2017. At the same time, it is the highest place for research institute. Before us are: Wrocław University of Technology, West Pomeranian University of Technology, Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences, and Technical Universities from Łódź and Poznań. We have the pleasure to inform you, that ICSO "Blachownia" received Good Laboratory Practice Cestificate no. 18/2017/DPL. This certificate complies with OECD and the EU principles of Good Laboratory Practice. In relation to the previous certificate, the range of the studies was extended to residue studies: analytical phase and studies on behaviour in water, soil and air; bioaccumulation.
The certificate is valid from 27th September 2017.
We would like to inform you, that the Instutute is currently partner in the project "Development of tailor-made PHB composites for technical applications", acronym PHB2MARKET realized within frames of ERA-IB2 (Industrial Biotechnology) Programme. You can visit the website of the project.
We would like to inform you, that the Institute is applying for logo/award Human Resources Excellence in Research. Director Andrzej Krueger signed the declaration of support for “European Charter for Researchers” and “Code of Conduct for Recruitment of Researchers”. ICSO’s actions in the range of scientific research and human resources correspond with the content of those documents – ensuring the perfect working conditions for the researchers, constant improvement of research quality and further development of innovativity of the technologies elaborated in ICSO. The implementation of the Charted and the Code is the sign of ICSO’s support for the European Commission attempts for the development of open and attractive science market for researchers in European Research Area.
